FROGMAN RETURNS

Screened for Unnamed Footage Festival 2026. This one's for the weirdos, the cryptid fans and amphibian lovers. This is Frogman Returns. What started as a joke in 2023's Frogman, with a title card stating "Frogman will return", Director Anthony Cousins has created a sequel fans of the found footage creature feature hit will be proud of. Dallas is now a cryptid hunter of sorts and we see glimpses of many notorious creatures including the fresno nightcrawler and squonks. This sets the scene wonderfully for the return of our ultimate amphibious figure. This is no longer a found footage horror but an expansive universe with larger production values, greater practical and SFX and some otherworldly sci-fi elements. The lore is ramped up to such an excess it's almost hard to keep up and feels almost Marvelesque in the approach. The creature design is a standout for me, with Frogman looking the best he's ever been. The knowing wink to its audience remains and it's clear everyone involved is having a blast. I cannot wait to see where this franchise goes next as it's clear the world is their lily pad.
